Stress is a significant factor in rescue and diving accidents. It is possible to enhance confidence and enjoyment in diving by learning to recognize, address, and prevent stress related to these situations.

Recognizing stress and being able to manage it promptly is an essential element in preventing diving accidents. Emergency situations in diving often result from a series of small errors, a chain of events, rather than a single large mistake. This requires training and practice to recognize and respond accordingly. The goal of the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue program is to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to swiftly recognize and respond to stressful and emergency situations in various diving conditions and environments.
